Quilt Block Patch
Create a quilt block patch and learn how to apply it to a garment or tote.

If you’ve ever been interested in learning how to quilt, this workshop is a great place to start! Make a simple quilt block and apply it to a sweater, tote bag, jacket - anything that’ll fit a roughly 10” x 10” block. Learn how to cut, sew and assemble in this one session workshop.

Skill Level: Beginner

Our textiles workshops accommodate diverse skill levels, welcoming novices intrigued by textile work and accomplished sewists/fibre artists aspiring to advance their techniques. This Course is an excellent BEGINNER course.

Your Instructor: 

Our experienced textiles instructors are passionate about sharing their expertise and guiding you through the journey of skill development and creative exploration through textile art, craft and design. With a deep understanding of the medium, they provide personalised instruction and feedback to help you achieve your artistic goals.

This course is taught by: Kristy Woudstra
Kristy is a talented and resourceful textile artist with a broad skill set in textile/fibre arts. With 25 years of diverse experience, she infuses modern flair into quilting traditions. Kristy's whimsical felt animals, the Grumpy Faces, bring joy and are created with eco-consciousness at the forefront of her practice. Join Kristy to learn unique skills and embrace creativity with us at Hamilton Craft Studios.

Materials and Supplies: This program requires participants to provide either a sweater, tote bag or other similar surface to apply a patch to. Fabric for blocks is provided, but you are welcome to bring any fabric you like to use for the quilt block. Tote bags are available for purchase through HCS at the start of your class. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your start time to complete the purchase.

HCS Facilities and Equipment: Hamilton Craft Studios’ textiles facilities are designed to facilitate a diverse range of work. Our spacious studio is equipped with sewing machines, large cutting tables, and other essential tools to support your creative journey.
